光，是宇宙中最微妙的存在。《圣经》开篇就写道：“神说：‘要有光。’于是就有了光。”有了光，才有了万物，有了人所活动的宇宙。人的生命，是伴着光的旅行过程。光，照亮了晦暗的形，带来斑斓的色，也温暖着沉寂的心。光，意味着希望和理想。中国人最高的智慧是和光同尘，要让一己生命应着光的开合，伴着阴阳的节奏，去创造光明的事业。凤凰鸣矣，于彼高冈；梧桐生矣，于彼朝阳。中国人欣赏的美感世界，往往在朝阳初启的明澈中、晞发向阳的烂漫里。正如庄子所说，“虚室生白，吉祥止止”，心中有光，吉祥的“鸟儿”才会飞到你生命的枝头。

每个人心中都有一盏明亮的灯，然因外在遮蔽而常常黯淡。人的一生，要时时护持这本有的光明，去除遮蔽，点亮生命灯芯。虽是一缕微光，加入灯的慧海里，便可光光无限，辉映出一个璀璨宇宙，所谓一灯能除千年暗是也。善于护持生命的人，不是借光，而是葆光，保有生命中的光明，不是等着外在的光来照耀。生命之光，不是反光，它就是光的源头。

Light is the most subtle substance in the universe. The first page of the Bible begins with: “God said ‘Let there be light’, and there was light”. It is the light that gives birth to everything, including the universe in which humans live. Light  illuminates the journey of humanity. Light dispels the darkness, creates charming colors, and inspires the dreary heart. Light brings hope and ideals. The highest wisdom of the Chinese is to blend with both light and dust, to embrace both glow and shadow, to follow the rhythm of Yin and Yang, and thus to build a bright future naturally. Phoenix sings on the high hill; Wutong tree grows in the rising sun. Chinese people usually find their aesthetics world in the clarity of the dawn light. As Zhuang Zi said, “Only an uncongested room can be brightened up and abounded with auspiciousness”. Only with light in heart, lucky birds would perch on branches of  life.    

All people have a bright light in their heart, but it is often dimmed by external obstructions. Trying all means possible to protect such inner light, removing obstacles, and keeping the wick of life lit; such efforts make one’s life an everlasting flicker of the lamp cohered by the enormous wisdom of human beings, which  sparks to light up a dazzling universe. With light, even a thousand years of darkness vanishes. The life under good care shines from within, rather than glimmers on borrowed light. The light of life is not a reflection; in stead, it shall be the source of all light.

《光的世相》“起念”于人们常常对日常中的事物视而不见，它不限于从神学、哲学、美学、或者是其他体系中寻找光。细腻的镜头语言下，记录着容易被日常琐事所湮没的美好，光的温度与触动从中涌现，突破日常感觉的习以为常，复活在现实生活中日渐枯萎的感受，从中创造出全新的“意识”，在意识中又建立起全新体系，从而摆脱视而不见、习以为常、理所应当的固化的惯性。

The concept for Light as It Appears in the World arises from the fact that people are often blind to the sublime meaning in the mundane, that the search for light is not limited to the realms of theology, philosophy, aesthetics, or other systems. Through the delicate language of the camera, beauty that can easily be obscured in the hurly burly of daily life is captured. Light’s heat and touch are preserved, piercing the routine of more ordinary sensations, resurrecting sensibilities that otherwise wither in the distractions of ordinary life, creating a brand-new consciousness, and establishing a brand-new application for that consciousness, so as to dispel the inertia that blinds us to a beauty usually taken for granted, and thus curing us of that blindness.

人类眼睛能够感受到380~780nm(纳米)之间的光波，眼睛仅能接收所有光波的十万分之一。在现实世界范畴之外，存在着另一个领域，它既不增不减抑不生不灭。纯粹的《白色系列》蕴藏着深邃的奥秘，用精神捕捉并创作出超越空间的抽象波动图像。笔触所画如同量子物理学看到的能量的波动，亦像是光中涌动的生命力，画布变为一种媒介，连接着光可见与不可见之间关系的多维性与可能性。

The human eye is capable of perceiving light waves between 380 nm and 780 nm, which amounts to only one hundred-thousandth of all light waves. Beyond the limited realm of our perception, there exists another realm eternal and unchanging. The pure White Series assays the deep mysteries of this imperceptible domain, composing abstract, fluctuating images that transcend both space and spirit. The brushstrokes are akin to the fluctuation of energy limned by quantum physics, and like a fundamental life force suffused with light, the canvas becomes a medium connecting the multidimensionality and possibilities inherent in the relationship between visible and invisible light.

在作品前运用光线特别设计出科学实验式装置，观者通过导光板后将会看到不断变化的内容。当思想跟随视线深入到作品内部，便能够感受到作品内部的精神，当回归现实，仍能感受到作品本身蕴含的巨大能量。

In front of the work, a specially designed plate has been placed, an innovative scientific device allowing viewers to note the content’s modulation after passing through device. Those who follow their thoughts and look deep into the work will feel its true spirit, a vast energy contained within that will resonate even after returning to reality.

《洄游》是一组双频道数字艺术作品，用诗意和抽象的生成图像，回溯北小河公园午后流动的光影印象。作品通过混合媒介的手段，赋予光更加宽阔的定义。作品捕捉天气、风向、照度等实时数据，使光线“洄游”形成极其想象力的变幻波动的美妙图形，随环境的变化而产生的不同效果和感觉，这不仅是光的漫游，更像是它在时间、空间中与自然的对话。数据驱动生成艺术构建出全新语境，融合形成一种奇妙氛围，为观者带来强烈的视觉与情感冲击。

Migrations is a set of two-way digital artworks that uses poetic and abstract generative images to retell the interplay of light and shadow flowing in an afternoon at North Creek Park. The work gives the term ‘light’ a broader definition through the means of mixed media, capturing real-time data such as weather, wind direction, illumination, and more, making of the light’s migration an imaginative journey of enchantingly fluctuating graphics. The different effects and sensations produced by changes in the environment become more than the roaming of light, a dialog with nature in time and space. Data-driven generative art constructs new contexts that merge to form a marvelous atmosphere, creating a strong visual and emotional impact on the viewer.
