Huangshan is the most renown peak among all mountains. It also gave birth the culture of Hui, and became the dreamland of Tang Xiang Tzu.
The hotel covers 100000 square meters, providing 360 degrees of immersive vacation for fancy travelers and premium families. The interior design is based on natural scenery and human cultures of Huangshan, while blending with innovations. The lighting design presents different sensations depending on styles, portraying vocational atmosphere through mild lighting. Lobby is the most essential part of the hotel. In order to retain its lighting, the designer places the lighting over wooden grid above the lobby, lengthening the structure of lobby visually. Moreover, through rail lighting which is combined with decorative chandelier, the central water decoration is highlighted, downwardly creating a visual focus for the lobby, and shifted customers’ attention to where it is. The designer wishes to expand customers’ attention to dimensions of the lobby. When one stands in brighter environment, one’s attention could be contracted. On the other hand, one’s sight is the clearest while standing in darkness. The indoor golf and shooting range of the entertainment zone reinstate natural color tone. The largest bar in the hotel, Monte Carlo Bar, has less overall lighting. The dark zone around the cellar at the entrance generates atmosphere of premium service. The downward lighting of the VIP zone emphasizes on the quality of furniture and artworks. The hidden lighting on irregular ceiling presents the special quality of the space. Crossed lights have elevated the uniquely hypnotizing atmosphere of the bar. Lightings of suites and presidential suites is on track with styles of vocational hotels. The lighter tone of the interior design forces lighting to be set in front and to generate spaciousness and family appealing atmosphere, contributing clear senses of layer.
Comparing to interior design, lighting design is relatively less creative. Lighting’s position in a space is fixed, therefore it can not be established regardless of space. Designers have to respect the will of architect and interior designer, creating the best fusion of designs on such basis.
It would be best to provide lighting which is in harmony with the environment.
